Angelina National Forest Boykin Springs Recreation Area
This USFS campground sits on a small, clear lake surrounded by towering pines in the heart of the Angelina National Forest. The 30 sites range from lakefront spots to secluded back-in sites under the canopy, with clean restrooms, picnic tables, and fire rings throughout. The swimming beach gets busy on summer weekends, but weekdays stay quiet. Water spigots are scattered around the loops, and the paved boat ramp handles small watercraft.
Access is via paved roads from Zavalla, then 4 miles on good gravel. The campground fills during hunting season (November-January) and summer holidays — arrive early or reserve ahead. No hookups, but sites can handle medium RVs. Fire restrictions apply during drought periods.
