Hickory Run State Park
Hickory Run sprawls across 15,990 acres of Pocono Mountains terrain, offering 381 campsites across multiple loops. The park’s crown jewel is the Boulder Field — a 400-by-1,800-foot expanse of massive quartzite boulders left behind by glacial action. Campsites range from primitive tent spots to full hookup sites, with modern bathhouses and a camp store. The park stays busy on summer weekends but quiets down considerably during weekdays and shoulder seasons.
Main access from Interstate 80 via Route 534. Reservations strongly recommended for weekend and holiday stays. Firewood available for purchase on-site. The Boulder Field requires a short hike from the parking area — worth the detour even if just passing through the region.
