Hyner View State Park Overlook
A dramatic sandstone cliff jutting 1,000 feet above the Susquehanna River valley, offering one of Pennsylvania’s most spectacular vistas. On clear days you can see for 20 miles across forested ridges and farmland, with the river snaking silver below. Hang gliders launch from here regularly, adding aviation theater to an already impressive natural stage. The overlook sits at the end of a short paved trail from the parking area.
Access via a winding mountain road that climbs steadily for 3 miles from Route 120. The road is paved but narrow with some steep sections — take it easy in larger rigs. Dawn brings the best light and fewer crowds. Can get packed on fall weekends when the leaves turn. Small parking area fills up fast during peak times.
