Allegheny National Forest Buzzard Swamp Dispersed Area
A series of primitive camping spots along the edge of Buzzard Swamp wetland complex, accessed via Forest Road 262. Sites are spread over a half-mile stretch with room for 2-3 vehicles each. Natural fire rings present at established spots. Area attracts waterfowl and is popular during spring migration. Mosquitoes can be intense June through August.
Forest Road 262 is maintained gravel but can develop washouts after heavy rain. Access from Route 666 near Hearts Content. Area typically accessible year-round except during deep snow periods. No potable water on-site.
