Sosebee Cove Trailhead
Well-maintained trailhead featuring one of north Georgia’s finest examples of old-growth tulip poplar forest. The short interpretive loop trail winds through massive trees, some over 200 years old, with informational signs explaining the forest ecosystem. Small parking area with vault toilet and picnic tables, though the real draw is the cathedral-like feel of the ancient forest canopy.
Access via paved Georgia Highway 180 about 3 miles west of Dahlonega. Popular with families and photographers, especially during fall color season. Trail stays open year-round but can be muddy after rain. Parking fills early on peak weekends.
