Unicoi State Park
Unicoi sits in a mountain valley just outside Helen, offering 82 campsites split between RV sites with hookups and tent sites scattered through mixed hardwood forest. The campground fills up on summer weekends but stays quiet midweek. Hot showers, flush toilets, and a well-stocked camp store make this a solid resupply stop before hitting the Chattahoochee backcountry.
The park’s real value is location — Anna Ruby Falls trailhead is a 10-minute drive, and it’s the closest full-service camp to Forest Road 218 and other Chattahoochee forest routes. Book ahead for peak leaf season in October when the place turns into a madhouse.
