Dead Horse Point State Park Kayenta Campground
Perched on the mesa top 2,000 feet above the Colorado River, this state park campground offers some of Utah’s most dramatic desert vistas. The 21-site campground features paved sites with picnic tables and fire rings, modern restrooms, and potable water. Sites are exposed on red rock slickrock with minimal vegetation, but the trade-off is unobstructed views across the river to Canyonlands National Park. Evening light on the canyon walls is spectacular.
Access is via paved State Route 313 from US-191, suitable for any vehicle. The campground fills quickly spring through fall due to its location between Moab and Arches/Canyonlands. Reservations strongly recommended March through October. No shade and limited wind protection make summer camping challenging.
