This dramatic mesa-top park sits 2,000 feet above the Colorado River, offering one of Utah’s most spectacular overlooks. The main viewpoint provides sweeping views of the river’s horseshoe bend, Canyonlands beyond, and the La Sal Mountains. The developed campground has 21 sites with picnic tables, fire rings, and restrooms, though no hookups or showers. Sites fill quickly March through October, especially weekends.
Access is via paved Highway 313 about 9 miles from the Shafer Trail junction. The park stays open year-round, but winter can bring snow and ice. Fires may be restricted during dry periods, and the exposed mesa can be brutally windy.
