Homochitto National Forest Red Bluff Campground

Established Campground

Red Bluff sits tucked into a narrow valley where Homochitto Creek cuts through 200-foot bluffs topped with old-growth hardwoods. The campground has 10 sites scattered along the creek, most with fire rings and tables but no hookups. Pit toilets and a hand pump well provide the basics. It’s quiet except for the creek and occasional pileated woodpecker — perfect for overlanders who want actual solitude.

Access is via Forest Road 106, which turns to gravel for the last 8 miles but stays passable for any vehicle. The campground fills on deer season weekends but otherwise runs empty. No reservations, no fees, 14-day limit. Creek runs year-round but can flash flood in heavy rain.
