Fogaras Mountains High Ridge Military Road

The route threads between peaks like Moldoveanu (Romania’s highest at 2,544m) and Negoiu, following a rocky spine that drops off dramatically on both sides. Key waypoints include the abandoned weather station at Omu Peak and the ruins of military bunkers every few kilometers, reminders of when this ridge served as an early warning line against NATO aircraft.
