Patoka Lake Water Level Gauge Station

Water Source

This USGS gauging station sits on the north shore of Patoka Lake and maintains a reliable freshwater spigot that’s become a known water source for overlanders running the nearby wildlife management areas. Clean, cold groundwater from a maintained well system — much better than lake water. No signage advertising it, but it’s been flowing for years and locals know about it.

Access via a short dirt spur off CR 650 N. The station is unmanned but the water system is maintained. Flow can slow during extreme drought but rarely stops completely. Bring your own containers — no amenities beyond the spigot.
