Middlegate Bar and Restaurant

The last fuel and cold beer for 100 miles on the loneliest road in America, Highway 50 between Fallon and Austin.

This tiny roadhouse sits at the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 361, serving as the only fuel stop between Fallon and Austin on America’s Loneliest Road. The bar doubles as a general store with basic supplies, cold drinks, and surprisingly good burgers. Fuel pumps run 24/7 with credit cards, and there’s usually decent cell service here.

The building dates back to the 1920s and maintains that authentic Nevada desert outpost vibe. Limited parking for big rigs, but plenty of room for overland vehicles. Popular with cross-country travelers and locals alike — expect it to be busier during summer months and hunting season.
