Primitive camping around this remote alpine lake near treeline, accessible only by serious 4WD trail. Several small sites accommodate compact rigs and truck campers, with larger groups often using the main meadow area. Spectacular mountain views and excellent fishing, but prepare for afternoon thunderstorms and cold nights even in summer. No facilities — true wilderness camping.
Access requires technical 4WD skills on a rocky, steep trail with several challenging sections. Modified 4WD vehicles only — not suitable for stock trucks or any trailers. Trail typically opens July and closes with first significant snow, usually October. Popular with serious 4-wheelers and adventure riders on weekends.
