Big Bend Campground

Monongahela National Forest campground on the Potomac's South Branch with swimming holes and trout fishing access.

A 46-site USFS campground along the South Branch Potomac River offering a mix of sites suitable for tents and RVs up to 40 feet. Most sites have picnic tables and fire rings, with vault toilets and hand-pump water available. The river provides excellent swimming holes and brook trout fishing, especially in the deeper bends downstream from camp.

Access via gravel Forest Road 29 west of Moorefield. Popular with families during summer weekends but quieter midweek. No hookups or dump station. Open typically May through October, depending on road conditions. Some sites can accommodate larger overlanding setups.
