Wild Horse Road — Goblin Valley BLM Dispersed Camping
Wild Horse Road runs between the Goblin Valley area and the Hanksville approach. BLM dispersed camping is allowed along the corridor in established pull-offs and old fire-ring sites. Expect open desert, big sky, and the Henry Mountains standing off to the south. There are no hookups, no water, and no host. You are camping on bare sandy-clay flats, so pack in everything and pack out all of it, including your human waste if you are not close to a vault toilet. It is a good base for Little Wild Horse and Bell Canyon slot hikes. Spring and fall weekends fill the better pull-offs fast, so arrive early.
The main road is graded dirt and usually passable for any careful vehicle when dry. Side spurs can be soft sand or clay, and clay turns to grease after rain. Flash flood risk in the washes is real, so do not camp in drainages. Fire rules change by season, so check with the BLM Henry Mountains Field Station in Hanksville before you light anything. The standard 14-day BLM stay limit applies. Verify current conditions ahead.
Open desert flats, slot canyons at your door.
