Fremont Lake Campground — Bridger-Teton National Forest

Established Campground

Fremont Lake sits at 7,500 feet in the Wind River foothills northeast of Pinedale and is the second-largest natural lake in Wyoming. The USFS campground on the northeast shore has 54 sites spread across timber and open shoreline, with vault toilets, drinking water, and fire rings. It fills fast on summer weekends — arrive Thursday or early Friday if you want a spot. The lake itself is cold, deep, and strikingly clear. Boat ramps, fishing for lake trout and kokanee, and views across to the Winds make this more than just a place to crash.

The access road off Fremont Lake Road is paved nearly to the campground — any rig can make it. Season runs roughly June through September depending on snowpack. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov and fill weeks out for July and August. A fee is charged per night.
