Tri-Canyon Junction — Greys River Road and Snake River Fork Viewpoint

At the north end of the Greys River Road corridor, just south of Alpine, the Greys River empties into the Snake River impoundment behind Palisades Reservoir. Standing here you’ve got the Salt River Range to your east and the Snake River Range to your west, both running timber-thick and steep. It’s not a developed overlook — no sign, no rail — but it’s a real geographic milestone on this route and a good place to glass for moose in the willow flats before dropping into Alpine for fuel.

Access is paved on the Alpine end. The Greys River Road south is a maintained Forest Service dirt road — passable to high-clearance 2WD in dry conditions but absolutely a 4WD road after rain or in early season mud. Cell signal is spotty at best here. Greys River Ranger District office in Afton is your intel stop before heading deep.
