Cap-aux-Meules to Grande-Entrée Coastal Loop

The Cap-aux-Meules to Grande-Entrée loop connects the scattered gems of Quebec’s Magdalen Islands via Route 199, threading through fishing villages, salt marshes, and the famous red sandstone cliffs that define this Atlantic archipelago. You’ll cross narrow causeways linking Île du Cap aux Meules to Île aux Loups, then continue to Grande-Entrée Island past endless beaches where grey seals haul out in massive colonies. While paved throughout, this route offers plenty of gravel side roads leading to secluded beaches and clifftop viewpoints perfect for exploration.
