Yukon River Territorial Campground — Carmacks
This territorial campground sits on the east bank of the Yukon River in Carmacks, one of the few genuine service towns on the Klondike Highway. Sites are level, mostly treed, and set close enough to the river that you’ll hear it moving at night. It’s a well-maintained stop with outhouses and fire rings — nothing fancy, but exactly what you need after a long day on washboard. The campground fills on summer weekends when highway travelers pile in, so if you’re rolling in late July, plan to arrive early.
Carmacks itself has fuel, a grocery store, and basic supplies — use it. The Twin Peaks mining road and Nordenskiold River flats are a short run west from town. Road to the campground is paved through Carmacks; the site is straightforward for any rig.
