Wayne National Forest Pine Ridge Dispersed Sites
Several primitive camping spots along Forest Road 16 on Pine Ridge offer elevated sites with partial canopy and seasonal valley views. Sites can handle 1-2 vehicles each with user-created fire rings. Area shows evidence of historical coal mining with old haul roads creating additional exploration routes. Popular with ATV riders on weekends during riding season.
Forest Road 16 is maintained dirt but gets muddy and slippery during wet weather. Access from OH Route 78 near Graysville. Road conditions can deteriorate quickly after rain — high-clearance recommended especially in spring. Fire restrictions typically in effect July-September during dry spells.
