Wayne National Forest Lamping Homestead Dispersed Area
The remnants of the old Lamping farmstead sit in a meadow surrounded by second-growth forest, with informal camping spots scattered along the access roads and cleared areas. Stone foundations and rusted farm equipment give the place a haunting feel. Most sites handle small to medium rigs, though larger setups can fit in the main meadow. Fire rings present but bring your own wood.
Reached via Forest Road 16 off State Route 78 near Graysville. The last 2 miles are rough gravel but manageable. Popular with ATV riders and hunters during season, otherwise quite peaceful. No water on-site, but Lamping Run flows nearby year-round. Watch for old wells and foundations when setting up camp.
