Wayne National Forest Monday Creek Dispersed Sites

Monday Creek cuts through a hollow lined with sycamores and scattered camping spots on both sides of the water. The creek runs clear most of the year with deep pools perfect for cooling off after a day on the trails. Old coal mining artifacts dot the area — rusted equipment and stone foundations from the 1920s operations. Sites accommodate 1-2 vehicles each with established fire rings and plenty of firewood from storm deadfall.

The access road off Forest Route 26 can get muddy after heavy rains, and a few creek crossings require attention during spring snowmelt. Popular with ATV riders on weekends but peaceful midweek. No potable water — filter from the creek or bring your own.
