Cantwell Cliffs Trailhead
The trailhead for Cantwell Cliffs sits in a gravel parking area that handles maybe 20 cars on a good day. This is one of the less crowded spots in Hocking Hills State Park, giving you access to towering 150-foot sandstone cliffs and deep recess caves without the Old Man’s Cave circus. The main trail is a 1-mile loop with some steep sections and wooden stairs.
Located off Big Pine Road, about 3 miles south of the main Hocking Hills visitor center. The parking area fills up on fall weekends but stays manageable most other times. Trail conditions can get slick after rain due to the sandstone — bring decent footwear.
