Wayne National Forest Lamping Homestead Recreation Area
Lamping Homestead sits on 25 wooded acres in the Wayne National Forest’s Ironton Unit, offering a mix of primitive and semi-developed sites scattered through mature hardwoods. Vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site, but no hookups or showers. Hand pump well provides drinking water. Most sites can handle RVs up to 30 feet, though a few are tent-only due to terrain.
Access via Forest Road 16, a decent gravel road that gets rough in spots after heavy rain. Popular with ATV riders using the nearby trail system, so expect some noise on weekends. Open April through October, with gates locked in winter. Good cell coverage from Verizon, spotty for others.
