Voyageurs National Park Rainy Lake Visitor Center
This visitor center sits on the shores of Rainy Lake, serving as the primary entry point to Voyageurs National Park’s vast water wilderness. The facility offers boat launch facilities, backcountry camping permits, and detailed maps of the interconnected waterways that define this unique park. Rangers here know the water levels, portage conditions, and which campsites are accessible by canoe or motorboat.
Located just off Highway 11 near International Falls, the center is easily accessible year-round though boat services are seasonal. The parking area can handle larger rigs, and there’s potable water available. This is your last stop for permits and local intel before heading into the Boundary Waters region.
