Theodore Roosevelt National Forest Cedar River Dispersed Area
Scattered along the Cedar River bottomland, this dispersed area offers about 8-10 informal sites with existing fire rings and level ground suitable for RVs up to 30 feet. Most sites sit within 100 yards of the river, providing water access and decent shade from mature cottonwoods. Popular with hunters in fall, otherwise quiet. Fire restrictions apply during dry periods typically June through August.
Access via Forest Road 739 off Highway 85, then 2.3 miles of maintained gravel. Road can get muddy after heavy rain but is generally passable for any vehicle. No services or facilities—pack everything out. Best spring through fall; winter access depends on snow conditions.
