Tasiilaq Natural Harbor Water Source
A clear mountain stream flows year-round into Tasiilaq’s protected harbor, providing some of the cleanest water you’ll find in East Greenland. The collection point is just upstream from where the creek meets tidewater, accessible via a short walk from the settlement center. Local Inuit families have used this source for generations, and the water runs cold and clean even in summer.
Follow the marked trail from the helicopter landing area toward the harbor, then upstream about 200 meters. The creek is easily spotted by the small wooden bridge crossing. Flow is strongest during the brief summer melt season but runs consistently. Bring a good filter as standard precaution.
