This legendary log roadhouse has been feeding climbers, pilots, and overlanders since 1917. Serves massive breakfast portions, fresh-baked bread, and classic Alaskan fare in a no-nonsense atmosphere. The fuel station out front keeps rigs topped off for the run to Denali. Gets packed during climbing season (April-July) when Denali mountaineers stage here.
Located right on Main Street in Talkeetna’s historic district. The building creaks, the coffee’s strong, and the sourdough pancakes are legendary. Cash preferred, though they take cards. Open year-round but hours vary in winter.
