Standley Chasm Dispersed Camping Area
A cluster of established fire rings and cleared spots in the red sandstone country about 2km before Standley Chasm proper. The camping is free and unrestricted, with enough space for 8-10 rigs spread across the rocky terrain. No facilities except what previous campers have built — pit toilets are hit or miss. The setting is classic Central Australia: red rocks, ghost gums, and big sky.
Access is via a rough dirt track that any 2WD can handle in dry conditions, but gets slippery after rain. Popular with Grey Nomads and 4WD groups heading to or from the Tanami Track. Fire restrictions apply during summer months.
Free dispersed camping in classic red rock country.
