Dinosaur National Monument Split Mountain Campground
Four group sites and individual camping along the Green River beneath Split Mountain’s red sandstone walls. Vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings standard. No potable water — bring your own or treat river water. Gates of Lodore rapids upstream, Harpers Corner petroglyphs a short walk away. Sites have some cottonwood shade but can be windswept. River access for fishing and packrafting.
Open April through October, weather permitting. Road is gravel for final 8 miles with several creek crossings that can be impassable during spring runoff. High-clearance recommended but not required in dry conditions. Sites are first-come first-served. Check river levels and weather before heading in — flash flood potential exists.
