Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area Red Canyon Lodge
This historic mountain lodge sits at 7,400 feet on the rim of Red Canyon, offering fuel, basic supplies, and rustic cabins to overlanders exploring the Flaming Gorge area. The lodge serves as the last fuel stop before heading into the Ashley National Forest backcountry, with unleaded and diesel pumps that draw heavy traffic from boaters, hunters, and 4WD enthusiasts. The general store stocks propane, ice, basic groceries, and fishing supplies.
Open seasonally from May through October, weather permitting. The gravel access road from Highway 191 is well-maintained but can be icy in early spring and late fall. No cell service — plan accordingly for communications.
