Sillers Lookout — Arkaroola Ridge-Top Tour Summit Viewpoint

Point of Interest

Sillers Lookout sits near the crest of the Arkaroola Ridge-Top Tour, one of the most demanding 4WD circuits in South Australia. From here the Gammon Ranges unfold in every direction — fractured quartzite ridges, dry creek beds, and the ancient geology of the Northern Flinders laid out like a relief map. This is the payoff point of the tour: no facilities, no shade, just raw Precambrian rock and a horizon that stretches to infinity. The Ridge-Top Tour is run exclusively by Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary guides — private vehicles cannot complete the full route independently.

Access is via guided tour only, departing from Arkaroola Village. The full circuit takes several hours and requires a high-clearance 4WD. Check conditions and bookings directly with the Sanctuary before arrival — tours can be cancelled in extreme heat or after heavy rain. No independent vehicle access to the ridge summit. Cell service: none.
