Salto Kama — Gran Sabana Waterfall and Tepui Viewpoint

Salto Kama sits just off the Gran Sabana Highway (Troncal 10) roughly 70 km north of Santa Elena de Uairén, where a short trail leads from the road down to a wide cascade tumbling off the ancient sandstone plateau. The falls aren’t the tallest in the sabana, but the setting is hard to beat — open savanna, red-brown rock shelves, and the silhouette of distant tepuis stacking up behind the spray. Pemón guides sometimes operate here; pay them, they know the terrain better than any map.

The pullout is unsigned — watch for a dirt track on the eastern side of the highway and a cluster of parked vehicles on busy weekends. Road surface to the pullout is paved. The short walk to the falls is flat but can be slick after rain. No facilities. This is a Pemón territory; be respectful and carry out everything you bring in.
