Ross River — Pelly River Bridge Viewpoint and Community Services
Ross River is a small Kaska Dena community on the Campbell Highway at the confluence of the Ross and Pelly Rivers. The suspension bridge over the Pelly River is a genuine landmark — vehicle-rated and the sole crossing for a wide stretch of country. For anyone running the Lomond Lake Road toward Lapie Lakes or pushing into the Pelly Mountains backcountry from Faro, Ross River is your last credible fuel and supply stop. There’s a gas station and a small store — call ahead to confirm hours and fuel availability, because stock runs thin.
The Pelly River views from the bridge and riverbank are worth stopping for regardless of resupply needs. The community is quiet; treat it with respect. Road into Ross River comes off the Campbell Highway and is paved to town. Beyond town, surfaces go to gravel quickly. Cell service is essentially nonexistent once you leave the townsite.
Last fuel before the Pelly Mountains backcountry.
