Promised Land State Park Campground

Established Campground

This sprawling campground sits at 1,800 feet elevation around Promised Land Lake in Pike County’s Pocono Mountains. With 500+ sites spread across multiple loops, it’s Pennsylvania’s largest state park campground — expect RVs, families, and weekend crowds from April through October. Sites range from primitive tent spots to full hookups, most with picnic tables and fire rings. The lake offers swimming and fishing, while miles of hiking trails connect to the broader Pocono plateau trail system.

Access is straightforward via PA Route 390, with paved roads throughout the campground. Reserve well ahead for summer weekends — this place fills up fast. Winter camping is limited but possible in select loops. Cell service is spotty in the lower loops but better near the lake.
