Scattered primitive sites line the wash approaching Palm Canyon, offering flat spots for multiple rigs under massive saguaros and ocotillos. No facilities whatsoever — pack out all trash and bring your own water. Sites fill quickly during peak season as it’s one of the best free camping areas near the famous palm grove.
Access requires 8 miles of rough dirt road that can be challenging for low vehicles after rain. The actual Palm Canyon hike is moderate but rewarding, leading to Arizona’s only native palm oasis tucked into a narrow canyon.
