Nisutlin River Territorial Campground — Teslin Tlingit Country
The Nisutlin River Territorial Campground is a Yukon Government-managed site sitting near the confluence of the Nisutlin River and Teslin Lake, just outside the community of Teslin on the Alaska Highway. It’s a quieter alternative to Teslin Lake Campground, drawing anglers, canoeists, and overlanders who want a slower pace. Spruce forest, river access, pit toilets, and fire rings. The fishing for lake trout and northern pike in this stretch is legitimate — ask locals in Teslin for current intel before you wet a line.
Access is easy — just off the Alaska Highway with minimal rough road involved. Sits in the traditional territory of the Teslin Tlingit Council. This is a solid staging camp for anyone running south on the Alaska Highway toward Watson Lake, or prepping for a push up the Campbell Highway to Frances Lake and beyond. Open late May through September. Expect light use outside July and August.
River camp, good fishing, low traffic.
