Navajo Nation — Many Farms Lake Corridor Dispersed Camp

Many Farms Lake sits roughly 20 miles north of Chinle along US-191, and the dirt tracks skirting its western and northern shores pass through classic Painted Desert fringe country — wide open, windswept, with distant mesa views toward Black Mesa. It’s not glamorous, but it’s genuinely remote-feeling and dead flat for leveling a rig. The lake itself draws waterfowl and is worth a walk at dusk. US-191 gets you within a mile or two of the lake on pavement; the last stretch is maintained dirt suitable for 2WD in dry conditions. Spring can be boggy near the lake shore — stay on higher ground. Fuel up in Chinle before heading north; Many Farms has a small convenience store but no guaranteed diesel. Cell signal is spotty at best along the lake edge.
