Nakusp Hot Springs — Slocan Arrow Lakes Resupply Soak

Point of Interest

After grinding the Kuskanax Creek FSR or the McDonald Creek summit routes, Nakusp Hot Springs is where you actually decompress. Two developed outdoor pools fed by natural geothermal water sit in a cedar forest a few kilometres above town. There’s a campground on-site managed by the regional district — nothing fancy, but you’ve got flush toilets, showers, and fire pits, which after a week in the backcountry feels five-star. The pools themselves run around 40°C and are genuinely worth the $10-ish day-use fee. Season runs spring through fall; the campground books up fast in July and August.

Nakusp itself is your last real resupply before heading north on Highway 6 toward the Arrow Lake FSR network. Fuel up in town — the Petro-Canada on Broadway is already in the database. Access to the springs is 12 km north of Nakusp on Nakusp Hot Springs Road, paved the whole way. Phone ahead in peak season.
