Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest — Sauk River Confluence Water Source
Where the White Chuck and Sauk rivers meet just outside Darrington, you’ve got clean, fast-moving water year-round and easy river bank access. This is a practical fill point for overlanders coming off the Mountain Loop Highway or staging for Forest Road 22 toward Suiattle Pass. The river runs cold and clear through most of the season — treat it regardless, standard glacier-melt watershed protocol. Bank access is wide and flat, easy to pull a loaded rig down to.
Darrington itself is right here — fuel, a small grocery, and a USFS ranger station are all within a mile. Water levels run highest in May-June with snowmelt and drop to their most accessible by late summer. This isn’t a named developed water point, but it’s a well-known local fill spot used by campers and trail crews working the Suiattle and Whitechuck drainages for decades.
