Minto Bridge — Yukon River Historic Suspension Bridge Viewpoint

Point of Interest

This narrow suspension bridge near the Minto Landing area is a genuine landmark on the drive between Carmacks and Pelly Crossing — a crossing overlanders on the Dalton Range Road or Twin Peaks Mining Road run regularly as part of their approach and exit. The Yukon River is wide and powerful here, and the bridge puts you right above it. Pull off on either bank and take it in — the river valley stretches for miles in both directions and the contrast between the steel cables and the boreal landscape is worth every second you lose to it.

Road surface to the bridge is paved highway (North Klondike Highway / Yukon Highway 2). No services here — just the crossing and the view. Cell signal is minimal to none. Best in June through September when river levels are running full and the light hits long into the evening.

Steel cables, big river, no crowds.
