Little Sahara Recreation Area Dispersed Camping
Little Sahara is Utah’s biggest sand dunes complex, and dispersed camping is scattered throughout the dune field wherever you can find solid ground. The sand here is fine and deep — perfect for ATVs but hell on stock vehicles. Most overlanders stick to the firmer edges near the staging areas or camp in the flats between dune ridges. Weekends are absolute chaos with hundreds of quads and sand rails, but weekdays you might have whole sections to yourself.
Access is off Highway 6 south of Delta. The main entrance road is paved, but once you’re in the recreation area it’s all sand tracks. High-clearance 4WD recommended unless you want to get stuck and wait for a tow from some good ol’ boys on ATVs. No water anywhere — bring every drop you’ll need.
