Cedar Canyon Creek Natural Spring
This natural spring emerges from a crack in the red sandstone canyon wall about 200 yards up Cedar Canyon from the main wash. Crystal clear water flows at roughly 2-3 gallons per minute year-round, pooling in a small rock basin before continuing downstream. The spring sits in a shaded alcove with cottonwoods providing relief from desert heat, making it a popular stop for overlanders running the nearby Paiute Trail segments.
Access requires a short hike up the sandy wash from where the canyon mouth meets Cedar Canyon Road. No signage marks the spring, but it’s obvious once you’re walking upstream. Water flows strongest in spring and early summer, but even in dry years it maintains a steady trickle. Purification recommended as cattle occasionally use the area.
