Established in 1972, the Innamincka Trading Post is the lone outpost of civilisation at the Strzelecki’s northern terminus. It stocks a genuine range of Adventure Kings and 4WD Supa Centre products — recovery gear, 12V accessories, spare parts basics — alongside Hema maps, Desert Parks Passes, fuel, and enough groceries to reload for the next leg into Birdsville or out to the Coongie Lakes. It is the one place on this entire 475km run where you can source auto accessories and permits under one roof. Verify hours and stock availability ahead of time; supply truck delays are real out here.

Located on South Terrace in Innamincka township. Cell service is essentially non-existent on approach — plan your shopping list before you arrive. Prices reflect the remoteness, not gouging — fuel arrives by road train and so does everything else. Check in here, grab your regional reserve permit if you haven’t already, and top the tanks before heading anywhere.
