Green Lane Park Reservoir Access Road Dispersed Sites
Several unofficial camping spots exist along the gated maintenance roads that access the upper end of Green Lane Reservoir. These aren’t sanctioned by the park, but they’re tolerated as long as campers are discrete and follow Leave No Trace principles. The sites offer lakefront access and are surprisingly quiet given the proximity to suburban Philadelphia. Capacity is limited to maybe 6-8 vehicles max, and weekend pressure from day users can be heavy.
Access requires walking or driving around the gate on Reservoir Road — the surface is decent packed dirt but can get muddy after rain. Park rangers occasionally patrol, so keep camps minimal and be prepared to relocate if asked. No facilities whatsoever, and campfires are generally discouraged. Best visited on weekdays or in shoulder seasons when park attendance is lower.
