Grandview Overlook
A developed overlook with parking, interpretive signs, and barrier-free viewing platforms perched on the rim of New River Gorge. The view spans miles of forested canyon with the New River snaking through whitewater rapids 1,400 feet below. Popular with photographers during sunrise and fall foliage season. The overlook connects to the Grandview Rim Trail for extended hiking along the canyon edge.
Access via Grandview Road off WV-9, a winding paved route that climbs steeply from the valley floor. Parking area fills up on summer weekends and during Bridge Day events. No camping at the overlook itself, but several campgrounds and dispersed areas within 15 miles for overnight staging.
