Duffey Lake Provincial Park Campground — Duffey Lake Road
Duffey Lake Provincial Park sits along one of BC’s most dramatic paved-but-remote stretches — Highway 99 between Lillooet and Pemberton. The campground runs right along the lakeshore with established sites in the trees, pit toilets, and fire rings. It’s a legitimate base camp for overlanders working the Noaxe Creek FSR routes and the Potato Hills FSR above Lillooet, or anyone pushing north from Whistler into Bridge River country. Gets busy July through August with weekend warriors out of Vancouver — midweek is the move.
Highway 99 through the Duffey is paved but narrow and avalanche-prone in winter — the campground typically opens late May and is accessible to any vehicle. Cell service is essentially zero once you drop into the lake basin. Stock up on fuel and water in Lillooet or Pemberton before you roll in. Fire restrictions apply provincially in dry summers — check BC Wildfire Service before you go.
