Douglas — Isle of Man Capital Fuel and Full Resupply Hub
Douglas is the beating heart of the Isle of Man — a Victorian promenade town with a working harbour and more practical kit for an overlander than anywhere else on the island. Multiple fuel stations in town, a Tesco Extra and Shoprite for groceries, and a handful of tyre shops make this the place to top off before heading north on the TT Mountain Course or south toward Castletown. The ferry terminal at the Sea Terminal handles Manx ferries from Liverpool and Heysham — this is how most rigs arrive on the island.
Town centre parking is metered and tight for larger rigs — look for the Summerhill Car Park or the Horse Tram terminus end of the promenade for wider bays. Fuel prices on the IOM can run slightly higher than mainland UK — fill here before going remote. Cell coverage is full throughout Douglas. A good base day for planning routes around the island’s mountain roads and coast circuits.
IOM's only real full-kit resupply stop.
