Delta National Forest Overflow Creek
This small creek emerges from underground springs and flows consistently even during summer droughts when other Delta water sources dry up. The water runs clear over sand and small gravel — a rarity in this muddy region. A primitive camping spot sits about 100 yards upstream where the forest service maintains a basic fire ring.
Find it by taking Forest Road 211 south from Highway 16 for about 4 miles, then following the unmarked spur road east for another half-mile. The road can get muddy after Delta thunderstorms, but it’s generally passable for any vehicle with decent ground clearance.
