Death Valley National Park Furnace Creek Campground
Furnace Creek sits at 190 feet below sea level in the heart of Death Valley, offering 136 sites with flush toilets, hot showers, and a nearby general store and restaurant. The campground fills up October through March, especially weekends, but summer sees plenty of open sites as temperatures regularly hit 120°F. Sites are gravel with some shade from tamarisk trees, and the visitor center is a short walk away.
Reservations are essential in peak season. The campground is paved-access and suitable for any vehicle, though large RVs should book ahead for appropriately sized sites. Water is available year-round, but summer camping here is only for the heat-tolerant — bring extra water and plan activities for dawn and dusk.
